MY WAR KOREA eBook Jack Morris

The book describes the life of Jack Morris as a service member of the United States Air Force days before and during the early years of the Korean War. This was a campaign sometimes referred to as a Police Action by the United Nations. It was a cold and bloody war with thousands of deaths and hundreds of thousands of casualties. It involved many nations with two super powers, China and the United States, in the forefront. The future of the tiny Hermit Kingdom was at stake. The author and the men of the 67th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron were rushed to the war zone several months into the campaign where they set up their aerial film processing laboratory and sped their end products to the generals at the front and to the war planners in Tokyo. Their efforts provided factual data behind the analysis that led to the Inchon Landing and provided much help for the pushing back of the Chinese and North Korean forces at a time when many in the west thought the Korean War would be lost.
The author, Jack Morris, was a law enforcement officer and in the Justice system for nearly 30 years. He enlisted for 3 years in the United States Army Air Force on June 5, 1948 and was honorably discharged on June 3, 1952 having served during and in the Korean War with a 1 year extension at the direction of the President of the United States. He lives with his wife, Freda, in California.

This is the true story of one Air Force enlisted man's experiences during the period June 1948 to June 1952. The author's year in Korea in support of the men flying the airplanes and, by virtue of his job, the soldiers and marines on the ground, tells a totally unfamiliar story because it is a personal recollection. This is an excellent quick read that is hard to put down.
